For quite some time now a dynamic and diverse art scene has been developing in South Korea, one that still has to be discovered in Germany. Together with the Kunsthalle Düsseldorf, the Osthaus Museum Hagen and three museums in Seoul, the Kunstmuseum Bonn participates in the project Transfer Korea-NRW. It is the 9th time that this project is being organized by the NRW-KULTURsekretariat Wuppertal in cooperation with partner institutions since its launching in 1990. This year the project is being conceived for the first time on an extra-European basis and promises an intense and exciting transcultural dialogue. Together with the 14 artists from South Korea and North Rhine-Westphalia that were selected by a jury, the museums have each prepared exhibitions that aim at showing the similarities and differences between the two artistic regions. As a museum with a focus on painting, the Kunstmuseum Bonn calls in its exhibition for reflection on the picture and in this context shows works by Jan Albers, Luka Fineisen, Kyungah Ham, Seung Jung, Yeondoo Jung and Sascha Pohle.
