Founded in 1985, the BONN ART AWARD for artists from the region is awarded every two years and is endowed with 10,000 euros. Since its redesign in 2009, the Bonn Art Award has also been linked to a three- to six-month international work scholarship in a European metropolis of the artist’s choice.
Since 2019, this scholarship has been supported by Dr Stephanie and Wolfgang Bohn with a sum of 10,000 euros, which the winner can use to finance the scholarship abroad. In addition, Mr and Mrs Bohn are donating a further 5,000 euros to enable a purchase from the Bonn Art Award exhibition for the collection of the Kunstmuseum Bonn.
EXHIBITION
The results of the stay abroad, which will last several months, will be incorporated into an exhibition that will take place at the Kunstmuseum Bonn in 2026. An accompanying exhibition catalogue will be published.
