ROLAND SCHEFFERSKI: DIE BERLINER

From 1.11.2018 until 24.02.2019 visitors to the Kunstmuseum Bonn have the opportunity to participate in the action "Die Berliner" by Roland Schefferski.

This is a participative project that has been carried out since the year 2000 on the occasion of various exhibitions as an accompanying action. Schefferski realizes this action by means of work in the form of "marked" garments. They are offered to the exhibition audience. In exchange for their jackets at the cloakroom of the museum, visitors to an exhibition will receive different items of clothing such as jackets and coats with embroidered shadow outlines of Berlin citizens. This work, conceived as a kind of interaction and based on movement and dynamics, stands for a concept that is extended into kinetic terms and, with its dynamized character, identifies perception as a time-bound and space-bound process.

This intervention at the Kunstmuseum Bonn on the occasion of the exhibition The Flaneur - From Impressionism to the Present and the exhibition Ulla von Brandenburg - SWEETS / QUILTS / SUN can contribute as a real experience to the extended reception of the concept of these exhibitions.
