The new display of the collection transforms the Kunstmuseum’s upper floor into a dynamic parcours. Works from the early modern and postwar periods enter into dialogue with contemporary art. The thematic fields range from the body and politics to communal rituals and vulnerability, extending to insights into the microcosm and the macrocosm.
The term ‘force field’ is used in both physics and sociology to describe the dynamic interplay of bodies in space and between individuals. By raising pressing questions about life, the exhibition brings into focus the distinctive social potential of Kunstmuseum Bonn’s collection. In addition, it seeks to offer impetus for opening up new perspectives on the future in times of multiple crises.
In the ZOOM IN series, Kunstmuseum Bonn highlights individual artists from its collection. Each room is dedicated to a single artist.
